Mark Carr Appointed as Chief Enterprise Architect at HKEX: A Strategic Step Toward the Future Marketplace

The Hong Kong Exchange & Clearing Limited (HKEX) has proudly announced the appointment of Mr. Mark Carr to the role of Managing Director and Chief Enterprise Architect.

In his new position, Mr. Carr will be instrumental in ensuring that HKEX’s ambitious vision of creating the ‘Marketplace of the Future’ is fully integrated into its technological and digital roadmap. This will encompass his integral role in shaping the technology investment strategy for HKEX. Additionally, he will work alongside the senior technology and transformation teams to optimise and implement the Group’s enterprise-wide digital and process architecture.

Mr. Carr will report directly to Richard Leung, the Group Chief Technology Officer at HKEX. His team will comprise of lead Enterprise Architects in the following sectors:

  1. Data
  2. Security
  3. Infrastructure
  4. Platforms

This collaborative effort will aim to enhance HKEX’s technology capabilities while upholding the Group’s ongoing commitment to providing secure and resilient technology services.

Before joining HKEX, Mr. Carr served as the Chief Architect at the Hong Kong Jockey Club since 2013. He also held significant roles at Credit Suisse Investment Banking and LCH Clearnet, where he supported several major international exchanges and platforms. His vast experience and unique insights will undoubtedly prove beneficial for HKEX’s future growth and innovation.
